Scene of The Climb

Never good enough, never could be,
Never gonna do it again if I live.
So i did it anyway, did it thrill me?
Spilling everything that I got in a sieve.
One after another, watching you chills me,
Anyone could see it's enough but a kid.
Crucify yourself, it would still be,
Never quite enough for a sucker to give.

Still pretending to fool yourself,
Knowing that we'll never get aligned.
A fool is ever returning to the scene of the climb.

If you can only love a fool, you can pick me,
Maybe do it better though I'm sure you're ok.
Tell me that i'm cruel, well that may be,
Would you ever settle for it any other way?
Even if you let her rule, there would still be,
25 reasons for her grievance everyday.
So mop away the drool, love gets you filthy,
Enjoy it while you can cos soon you're gonna gotta pay.

Just pretend not to see or hear,
Or separate surreal from sublime.
A fool is ever returning to the scene of the climb.

The scene of the climb is where we're ever returning,
Don't let the obvious show.
Because a criminal hides right where the fire is burning,
Dangling from a frayed rope and the last thought you know,
Is that you can't let go.
