EASIER TODAY

Alas forlorn little one,
What is it that troubles you now?
All of the illicit pleasures,
You're uninhibited enough to allow.
I made a note to myself:
Maybe it was time to slow down,
When I couldn't remember over 2/3's of December.

Speak up my liveliest thing,
What is it you're trying to say?
Just because you don't talk about it,
That don't mean it's going away.
Everytime I think I understand you;
You quickly remind me that hey,
Anything that's so easy makes too many people think it's sleazy.

You don't have to tell me baby,
You don't have to say:
Why things have changed.
You don't have to write a letter,
You don't have to phone,
Cos everything is easier today.

Onward my juiciest pet,
There's a few more mountains to climb.
It's so vindictive tormenting your victims,
Making every second verse rhyme.
I stepped up in line and reminded myself:
Don't underestimate the value of time,
If you get paid by the hour you can show up for work without a shower.

We don't need no tv baby,
I'd rather watch you play.
And I'll spring for the games.
Wrap 'em in a ribbon baby,
Look the other way.
Cos everything is easier today.

Cheer up my naughtiest tic,
Don't let minutae get overblown.
It's still so painful to think about it,
Rubbing the tulips alone.
I looked out the window and remembered the days,
When the world was still a way down the road;
But an untimely arrival made latex the key to our survival.

You don't have to tell me baby,
You don't have to say:
Why things have changed.
Wrap you in a ribbon baby,
Look the other way.
Cos everything is easier today.

That's right,
It's easier...
